What's New in The Featherweight Shop Vintage Collection - May 2021

Here at the Featherweight Shop we have quite the collection of vintage Singer items.  Due to our remote location, very few customers have had the opportunity to see the many rare Singer items we have.  This series of blog posts brings our collection out for all to see what new items we get in.  Some of these items may be famous and recognizable, but we are sure there are others that very few have ever seen or heard of.  For the month of May 2021, here are some of our recent finds:

This little Italian Singer oil can is so charming!

Here is an employee pin from 'Kearfott' after Singer acquired their company.  Kearfott is still around today, and does contract work for the US Military.  Click here to see if we have any vintage employee pins for sale.

This book is very rare and details the story of Isaac Singer who invented the lockstitch sewing machine.

A postcard depicting the Singer Building on a moonlit night sent in 1907.

This is a packet of 5 cams (still in their original packaging) that go to a Swiss Zigzag attachment.

We were thrilled to find this book detailing the entire proceedings of the 'Teenage Fashions Contest' in the UK in 1956.  Click here to see if we have any of the 'Teenage Dressmaking Contest' pins in stock.

This marvelous notepad from Singer has helpful daily calculations, conversion charts, and a 1944 calendar.

These dainty Model 'T' Singer irons are adorable!

Here is a Singer pattern tracing wheel in excellent condition.  Click here to see if we have any original rare pattern tracing wheels in stock.

Shown above is a Singer model 20 Sewhandy in what we call 'Safari Brown.'  We have only seen this color on Sewhandy machines sold in France, and it is quite difficult to find.

There are so many fun vintage Singer items here at the shop, and we are very excited to share our new finds with the Featherweight community.  Stay tuned for next month!
